The Selfie Drone changed the way you photographed

The Selfie drone has changed the way you take pictures the market of consumption drones continues to grow, the drone Selfie, are already current currency in the arsenal of Gadget maniacs and also for the general public.

Now you can add to the SELFIE drones the ever-growing list of Mini, Hobby, Professional and Racing drones already available.

As technology continues to improve, drone manufacturers are improving by incorporating all of these sensors and chips into smaller packages, these improvements have made it possible to produce a more portable and consumer-friendly drone that offers Necessary features and convenience.

The Selfie Drone has changed the way you take pictures

They have control options that make taking pictures and videos easy for anyone.

These new models with built-in cameras come in flat, collapsible and compact designs, made to be more portable than the larger models with matchable features, and this mobility factor makes them more attractive to many consumers. These smaller flight cameras allow you to capture shots of selfies from a unique perspective and are a big part of why Selfie drones has started to grow in popularity.

What are the Selfie drones?

Selfie drones comes in a variety of designs, most are slim or compact, some are pocket-sized and foldable, all are designed with portability in mind.

They can be easily packaged or transported, and once they are released, they are placed correctly, do their homework and return.

Some will even allow you to share your photos on social networks by pressing a button.

Most selfie drones are controlled with an application (app, for Android, IOS) that you install on your smartphone or tablet, with scheduled flight modes.

As the “mode selfie” to make it easier to take pictures and videos for anyone. Ideal for beginner pilots who want to focus on getting that perfect selfie “DRONIE” instead of worrying about positioning the drone.

What is a Dronie?

The combination of ‘ drone ‘ and ‘ selfie ‘ has provoked a new Air drone madness known as Dronie.

The most popular “Dronie” can be shot by making the drone focus on you or your group and then back down to reveal your location. While the selfies are great, the “dronies” provide that factor “GUAUUU is incredible!”.

Features that make Selfie drones so popular

  • Portability: Convenient and easy to carry as your smartphone.
  • Ease of use: controlled by an application on your smartphone and with a few simple touches, your up and flying. Some even have applications that allow you to edit and share on social networks.
  • Image quality: Even with selfie drones, you can get a professional 4k camera quality.
  • Follow me mode: Most of them now offer this popular feature. You can set the drone to follow from behind, or focus on the face from the front or even fly. This is as autonomous as it gets.
  • Precise positioning: Some models have vision sensors to keep it in place, even without GPS.
  • Facial recognition: gives you the ability to focus on your face or the face of another to get a very clear picture of yourself.
  • Gesture Control: To take a selfie, simply create a frame with your hands, you will recognize this shape and take a picture of you.

Currently, most Selfie drones use a complementary application on their phone for control, the new trend “gesture control” seems to be an easier to use option and the next improvement will probably be more voice control options.

Popular uses for Selfie drones

The average consumer wants the ability to record their memories anytime and anywhere. Most people take selfies when they are moving or doing something interesting with friends and family.

Events such as birthday parties, family reunions, parties, backyard parties and picnics. A Selfie Drone can be a great way to capture these moments and share them in your social networks.

Explorers and hikers, or anyone who enjoys outdoor activities can throw a selfie drone in the air to capture in action or get a unique background photo of a spectacular view.

Tips for using your Selfie Drone

  • These are just a few suggestions to consider before flying your drone around others.
  • Like any new items you buy, take some time to read the Operation manual.
  • Practice flights will help you get acquainted with the features.
  • Consider the flight area, not all selfie drones have the characteristic of avoiding obstacles.

Note: All these models are controlled by APP.

What’s so special about the Mini drone?

The Drones Selfie (or mini drone or pocket drone) have followed the example of the madness of Selfie, which basically consists of taking photos directly alone, in groups, performing an activity, etc.

Selfie drones are flying devices, commonly quadricopters (because they have 4 propellers), which have functions or are made to use selfies with full effect.

They are designed with the idea of the self-photo (selfie) in mind, having certain functions, like facial recognition, to be able to reduce the activity that you are doing, where you are, etc. To get the perfect shot.

What should I look for in a Selfie drone?

Leaving aside the specifications and price range, if you want an incredible selfie drone, you will first have to look at the features, before anything else. Maximum altitude, stand-alone (Hold), mode follow Me, and any form of image stabilization features are definitely what you want to be looking at from the beginning.

What else should I look for in a Selfie drone?

What’s the point of getting a Autophoto drone if the camera stinks? Look for one that has a decent amount of flight time, one that is easily portable and has a decent camera at least.

The best drones for Selfie drone 2018

DJI Spark Selfie Drone

DJI Spark Selfie Drone
DJI Spark Selfie Drone

The Spark by DJI remains a relatively new drone, with a price of around
U $ D 500 and has all the charm behind this team and for a very good reason, its value for money.
For this review, we will see the Fly More Combo for DJI Spark.

The following lists the specifications of the Drone:

Available in 5 different colors

  • Features Quick Launch, Face Aware, Ultrasmooth technology, evade objects, return to starting point, dynamic starting point/Start point, automatic exposure bracketing, timed shooting, shallow focus and more.
  • It includes a 12 MP camera with 1080p to 30fps video resolution and a live video streaming.
  • Use a WiFi connection through the DJI GO 4 application.
  • Includes a range of up to 100 meters.
  • Capable of reaching speeds of up to 31 mph when in sport mode.
It uses a 2-axis mechanical gimbal paired with Ultrasmooth technology for a stable flight and aerial photograph.
  • Flight time of approximately 16 minutes.
  • Weighs 1.5 lbs with a total size of 9.8 “x3” x 8.2 “

The best professionals that DJI Spark has to offer definitely have to be what you can do with the camera and the different modes.
For example, you can use the horizontal or vertical panning mode to automatically tilt and move the camera in flight to capture pictures that will work for a large-angle dynamic panning.
The biggest drawback should be that the configuration process with the firmware and the manual can be difficult if you have little or no experience to do it with a drone.

DJI MAVIC PRO Selfie Drone

Selfie Drone DJI Mavic Pro
Selfie Drone DJI Mavic Pro

DJI’s Mavic Pro is an absolute classic. At this point I am writing this, it has a price of less than U $ D 1.000, but do not let the price influence you! It has enough that most of the other drones don’t have. This drone was widely used to film the muldialistas stadiums of FIFA soccer in Russia 2018

Listed below are the specifications:
  • Uses a new OcuSync transmission of up to 7 km or transmission range
  • Capable of flying at speeds up to 40 mph
  • Total battery life of 27 minutes
  • ActiveTrack features, TapFly, obstacle prevention, flight autonomy
  • Flight autonomy of absolute accuracy and more
  • Uses GPS and GLONASS with sensor redundancy for a stable and reliable flight
  • True 4k camera with 1080p Full HD video streaming
  • It has a 3-axis mechanical camera stabilization system
  • It comes with a 16GB memory card
  • Works with the controller and your smartphone
  • Weighs 1.6 lbs with a total size of 7.1 “x 11.4” x 9.4 “

The greatest professional feature, that this drone has to offer should definitely have folding arms. When folded, the drone transforms into the size of a bottle of water, allowing easier and safer transport.
The biggest problem would definitely have to be the price. While it may seem very steep, you are getting many features and specs that no other drone has, but the price is not feasible for everyone.

ZEROTECH DOBBY Mini Selfie Drone

The ZEROTECH DOBBY is the unmanned Aircraft review choice for a perfect budget, no doubt. All of the following can be yours for less than $250!

The following specifications are listed below:
  • Uses a dual satellite positioning system
  • Includes a built-in HD camera with 4k images and 1080p HD videos
  • Uses a form of interaction control based on gestures with facial recognition
  • Able to use the sliding function of your smartphone as a motion controller with real-time image monitoring

  • Take individual, burst and timed photos
  • Total flight time up to 9 minutes without wind
  • Scope of 100 meters or 328 feet

The biggest professional touch that this selfie drone has to offer is definitely the fact that it is very stable.

Many smaller drones tend to be quite noisy, but this has sounds close to not annoying, it’s great to fly in the outdoors.
The biggest drawback, however, is that it will definitely deplete the battery trying to solve it the first time because the setup is a bit extensive.

To avoid this, always set up the drone and habit completely before heading out into the field.

The Breeze by YUNEEC is not classified as a selfies robot, but it works as well as one that does! At this time of writing, it will cost you around U $ D 500 (May 2018), which is pretty good for everything you’re getting.

Listed below are the specifications:
  • 4k Ultra High Definition and 13 MP video still photos with live streaming 720p
Includes modes Selie, Pilot, Orbit, Journey and Follow Me with return to Home and VisionTrack.
  • Includes a built-in interior positioning system for a better position indoors and outdoors.
  • Able to edit your photos and videos through the Breeze Cam application and share them instantly with your social networking profiles.

  • It has a speed of 2 m/s, which is perfect for beginners.
  • Able to automatically land with a single button.
  • Weighs less than one pound with a total size of 3.1 “x 8.6” 11 “.

The greatest professional contribution that this marvel of a drone has, would be its folding propellers that make it easy to take anywhere. It even includes a carrying case too!
The biggest problem we’ve encountered is that, in one of the recent firmware upgrades that tend to make it untrustworthy. We know this because we have tried it and we have literally fucked up, we are currently in process with the manufacturer, to solve the technical issue. If you acquire it, we suggest that you investigate briefly before making the decision to update the firmware. Everything else is an excellent drone.

Hover CAMERA PASSPORT Selfie Drone

It can be a self-image robot with an incredibly strange appearance, but for U $ D 500, you get a good team. Some of the features and specifications are out of this world ????, the truth is ugly, but once you use it you fall in love.

Listed below are the specifications:

Proprietary mode features, gesture control, auto tracking, Gyro 360 and more

  • Made with carbon-fibre-closed form factors that ensure that you can safely grab it while in the air to recover it without damaging it.
  • Take 4k videos and 13 MP photos
  • Weighs less than one pound with a total size of 11.8 “x 10.7” x 0.2 “

The best and most incredible, pro that this selfie drone has to offer is the proprietary mode paired with Gesture Control. The drone literally scans your face in the application and automatically finds you, follows you and records whatever you want, whenever you want.
Because it is a fairly new drone that many users do not know, many of the general specifications are unclear, which makes this the biggest hoax, as it can be a bet for some. For example, you don’t know much about total flight time and how well it is handled in the wind. Our tests with moderate wind, were about 15 minutes of flight, not bad for their size and weight. Excellent for indoor flights

For those with a strict budget with little or no leeway, the Elfie by SZMWL is the perfect solution for a great selfie drone at a shocking price. It only costs about U $ D 50!

The following specifications are listed below:
  • Includes an innovative 720p camera with 0.3 MP pictures
  • Completely solves the problem of loss of orientation for pilots through flight maneuvers
  • Able to make 3d jumps for a great aerial stunt show
  • Use real-time WiFi streaming with FPV
  • Offers automatic return with one key, altitude retention, G-Sensor mode, headless mode and more
  • It has a transmission range of up to 40 meters
  • Total flight time up to 8 minutes
  • Has a LED light for better visibility in low light conditions
  • Weighs less than a pound with a total size of 6 “x3” x 2.5 “

The best feature this selfie drone has to offer is definitely the G-Sensor mode. When enabled, the drone will follow it automatically depending on how you move your smartphone, which is quite stable!
The biggest disadvantage is that the quality of the videos you film is not so good, which can influence your final decision in favor of not having it. The pictures are fine, though!

Drone 720X/SELFIE drone 7S

Drone 720X/Selfie drone 7S
Drone 720X/Selfie drone 7S

This drone is an evolution of the team SZMWL JJRC Elfie, with notable improvements in its design, comes in two versions of colors, black with white and magenta and black.

The noticeable improvement is in the quality of the videos it produces and some pre-set tricks that brings the app that comes for both Android and Iphone. You can make loops, auto landing, Auto takeoff, and it comes with an improvement of the G-sensor mode, which stabilizes the images much better, to highlight this drone, is the height stabilization.

Selfie Drones-The ultimate addition to madness
Selfie drones, or “dronies,” they’re evil. They bring the whole game selfie to a whole new level with incredible features, better specs and much more.

SELFIE DRONE Folding: The New aerial madness

From the list we have developed so far, only the last 3 teams belong to this crazy category of pocket folding drones.

It’s the new design madness with drones and quadricopters these days. The two big 900-pound gorillas that are the DJI Mavic and the GoPro Karma.

Both released their own version of a folding drone around September 2016. GoPro was the first to launch with his drone Karma, a folding sports quadcopter that is designed as an action camera and a structure to take him on his travels.

A week later DJI came into flames with his Mavic folding drone. What they did was tighten the DJI Phantom 4 into a smaller package and make it foldable. Fast forward to today and between these two the winner has already been declared for granting; The GoPro Karma was a huge failure.

Karma was withdrawn from the market by GoPro only a few weeks after it began to sell because it could lose power in mid-flight and cause it to crash.
So should we finish this article here? Hell, no! Read on, because there are other collapsible autophotos (selfie) drones you need to know. Did you know that you can now get a collapsible autophoto drone for less than $50? That’s right, and you can read all about it here.

What is a Selfie drone?

First let us discuss what makes the special drones of the rest. Obviously, the main point of sale of these drones is that they are relatively small and light enough so that you can easily put them in a backpack or even in your pocket sometimes (the case of drone 720X for Europe and Latin America; and the SelfieDrone 7S For USA and Spain, for example).

This is accomplished by making the arms, which keep the rotors collapsing inside the drone’s body.
Another thing is how they fly and the way they are controlled. This type of drones allows you to control it using an application that you install on your smartphone or tablet, this makes these drones easier to fly and control even for beginner pilots who want to focus on becoming a Selfie instead of worrying about the thrust and yaw control

Finally, they are mostly autonomous and fly alone in several predetermined patterns. Which means you can configure the drone to follow you from behind, or focus on your face from the front or even fly over; All this is done even if you’re moving. The idea is to just tell the drone to follow him and start his adventure. Very cool!
So let’s get down to the point and see what’s the best selfie drone.

What is the best Selfie folding Drone? /Pocket Selfie Drone

#1 DJI MAVIC Air Fly foldable

We’ll start with the big Boy in the group. The DJI Mavic is the most interesting drone we have seen from DJI to date. DJI is increasingly pushing its drones into the mainstream by making them more friendly, but what makes it so special?

The DJI Mavic is not close to being the smallest camera drone, mini drones and micro drones are all over the network these days.

But, generally, having little success meant having to sacrifice a lot of things, mainly the quality of the camera and the extra features.

The DJI Mavic changes all that. Despite being relatively small and very portable, manages to provide excellent images, battery life and autonomous intelligence that combines drones twice their size. This is felt when we first use a laptop computer and we compared it to a desktop computer.

Much of the innovation has been put on this drone by DJI, this is his first drone that is collapsible, of course, and also this is his first drone that can fly without using the controller.

Mavic fully folded

In this mode, switch to the WiFi mode and connect your smartphone or tablet to Mavic. This, of course, will take away some of the detailed control you get with the driver, but it makes the new drivers easier to handle.

Another third option is to combine the two previous modes, using the controller and your phone at the same time. You see, the DJI Mavic controller has built-in support for a smartphone and you connect the two with the built-in cable inside the controller, providing live power for your smartphone and camera modes and standalone modes more Complex. In the meantime, the remote control will show more accurate control.

Controller Plus Smartphone Combo
Controller Plus Smartphone Combo

While Mavic’s exterior is very different from other DJI drones, the underlying components and software have much in common. To begin with, both have the optical sensors that look down allowing the drone to stabilize

In itself and float in the air even when it makes a little windy. This also gives Mavic the ability to maintain its position indoors, where there is no GPS signal.

The specifications of the camera and Cardan are quite similar to those offered by Mavic’s older brother, the Phanton 4, except in a smaller form factor.

The two cameras record brilliant 4k videos and 12 megapixel frames. The only downside to Mavic’s camera is that it’s not as wide-angle as the Phantom 4.

The DJI Mavic also has forward-facing sensors that allow you to see what is ahead, allowing you to avoid obstacles and avoid collisions. Along with the camera, these sensors are also used to control gestures, simply move your arms to Mavic and it will look at you, then frame your face with your hands and you will take a picture of yourself… So military technique!
As the first unmanned real-consumption aircraft from DJI, the logic embedded in the camera’s software is different from other DJI drones.

All DJI drones have automatic focus that allows you to focus on flying, but Mavic requires you to choose your subject first. This is because the concept of the DJI Mavic drone is to be more of a selfie drone rather than a more general drone. So, to get the best picture, you should tell Mavic who is the star of the program and focus on it.

While being small has its advantages, it also means that Mavic also has some drawbacks. To begin with, her legs are short, which gives her little distance to the ground. It is true that it is not a 4 × 4 where the distance to the ground is important, but this means that the rotors of the quadcopter can become entangled in the high grass, that the normal Phantom drones of DJI would have passed easily.

In addition, compared to the DJI Phantom 4, Mavic’s wind resistance is a bit questionable, which means it can be a little harder to control with stronger winds compared to the DJI Phantom 4.

Despite its small size, this large small quadcopter has the longest reach of all unmanned aircraft consuming more than 4 miles (7 kilometres).

It also has an excellent maximum speed of 40 miles per hour (approximately 60 km/h).
So, in general, it’s hard to blame the last DJI robot and the first real-life unmanned aircraft, the Mavic. True compared to other drones, even at the same price point, the Mavic DJI may not be the fastest, nor the hardest, nor the best drone with a camera, but for its intended purpose, the average consumer is almost perfect.

Except for one small thing, its price. You see, by its features it has a fairly reasonable price, but when you consider this to be a selfie drone for the average consumer, or in other words, a toy, it’s a pretty expensive toy with a price of
U $ D 999.
So maybe this is not for the “average” consumer, but more likely for a less demanding professional who can use this great little quadcopter to get professional-level videos without spending too much on his older brother, the DJI Phantom 4.

  • Lightweight, easy-to-carry folding design.
  • It has a great camera that produces images and videos of excellent quality.
  • It has all the features of its older brother, DJI Phantom 4, at a more economical price.

  • With a slightly too high price for your planned market.
  • Small legs mean more difficult to land on soft surfaces and grass.
  • Smaller body and smaller engines make it harder to fly in windy conditions.

ZEROTECH Dobby Selfie Drone
ZEROTECH Dobby Selfie Drone

ZeroTech Dobby Selfie Drone is a small quadcopter which is the first folding Selfie drone in starting to sell. When you first look at the Selfie Dobby drone, you feel like you are in a futuristic movie with its small size and folding design.

When packed and folded, the drone has a small pill form and weighs less than half a pound. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket. Of course, this is not the smallest drone, but compared to those micro drones and Nano drones This is not a toy.

Specifically, the Selfie Dobby drone has some nice features considering its price, for starters, it has an HD camera that takes photos in 4k resolution and gives you 1080p HD videos with its 13 MP camera. This camera produces high quality photos and videos, although it cannot be compared to the quality of the DJI Mavic drone, but it is much better than the front cameras of your smartphone.

The Dobby is powered by a Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.3 GHz chipset with 2GB of RAM, which is better than most of the quadcopters of toy grade there are.

Being targeted at average consumers, controlling the Selfie Dobby robot is not very difficult. For this, you can use an application installed on your smartphone (which fortunately is available in English) and also responds to gestures with your hands. Putting it in the air first is great and high-tech, you can touch it 3 times

ZEROTECH front view of this Drone Selfie

Or you can use your voice to order it to fly. It feels like I’m a Robocop or something!
Oddly enough, when you set up the drone for the first time, you can’t fly it inside. Their first flights were blocked in rookie mode, which means that the drone must fly outdoors with a GPS signal lock. After having flown for 20 minutes, the most advanced interior mode is enabled, which also allows the Dobby to land in the palm of the hand and take off by voice control.

Despite its relatively moderate price, the Dobby Selfie Drone even has a built-in GPS so you can use your smartphone with the installed application to draw the Quadricopter flight path, allowing you to take some videos from you or Other objects. It also has sensors that look down, allowing you to keep your position and float while taking that big shot.

The Dobby’s flight time is about 9 minutes, which is relatively good for this type of drones, and of course, you can always get an extra battery, which is easily replaceable and gives you more flight time.

With the latest firmware updates, the drone now has some more advanced features, which were not available when the Dobby Selfie drone was first launched and there is facial tracking and tracking targets.

One drawback to the Autophoto Dobby drone is that the camera doesn’t really have a gimbal. The only control you have on the camera is to choose one of the four preset positions, and this must be done before you fly because you cannot control the camera. In addition, no gimbal means that there is no built-in physical stabilization, so they depend on the electronic stabilization of the image as a typical smartphone, which is generally fine for what this drone is designed to do.

Another negative point of Dobby Selfie Dobby is that it does not have an obstacle avoidance system. This means that when you fly in the object tracking mode, you can hit a tree or building, so you should be careful and watch it.

The ZeroTech Dobby Selfie Drone is an extremely interesting and fun unmanned aircraft, it has a good quality of construction that can withstand some punches and bruises gracefully, and despite not having an English manual, the application is in English and the Controls in general are not that hard to understand. The good thing about ZeroTech is the support and the continuous development of this great small quadcopter in the form of additional functions with each new version of firmware. It is not always possible to find a Chinese manufacturer of “toys” that supports their products.

Overall this is a great drone to have.

  • Extremely small and easy to transport
  • Simple controls and has many functions for both beginners and more advanced pilots
  • Good price taking into account the specifications and characteristics

  • No gimbal means a slightly unstable photo
  • There is no obstacle avoidance system anyway.

Drone 720x

The Dobby Selfie drone, as we saw before, is a great little drone. It is small, extremely portable and carries some fantastic selfies. A great recipe for a great drone. However, one thing would prevent some people from buying, the price. With almost $400, it’s not cheap and if you just want a simple toy for selfies, Dobby can be expensive.
With a price of about $99 at the time of writing this article is a cheaper copy of Dobby Selfie Drone. Of course, at this price you can expect the Dron drone 720x to lack the advanced features of the most expensive Autophoto drones, and that’s true. He doesn’t have a GPS or a gimbal or an adjustable camera, he even uses brushed motors. All of this, of course, to reduce the cost.

Even the camera has had its price reduction quota, unlike the Dobby drone, the drone 720X does not have a 4k video camera and has only a resolution of 0.3 MP.
So it’s a bad drone?
Hell, no!

Despite all the not so good points mentioned above, this is a big little drone that has a lot of good stuff for it to start with, it’s very easy to control using your smartphone or tablet, it also has a headless mode that in This case is a very good addition because of its target market. and the standard function of each selfie drone can be automatically moved in the air so you can take that great photo of selfie.
The most advanced features include what they call a “G-sensor” mode which is basically a follow me mode that uses a simpler technology to follow it in place of photographic and facial recognition found in the most advanced selfie drones.

As mentioned above, the Drone is controlled using its smartphone via a WiFi connection. Your flight time is about 10 minutes or less, which is typical of small drones and needs approximately 45 minutes to fully charge.
In conclusion, it is fun and makes for what was built… At low cost. What more can you ask for?!

  • Extremely cheap Drone
  • Small, light, foldable and very portable.
  • Easy to install and fly. Especially using G-sensor control with headless mode.
  • Tilt camera, and you can fly with the camera pointing towards you using the headless mode for those selfie.

  • The JJRC H37 does not come with any direction, but it is very simple to understand.
  • Low-resolution camera.
  • There is no MicroSD card slot in the quadcopter. The video is recorded on your phone via wifi, with typical problems of latency and freezing that are normally seen with the video WiFi FPV.

The official application “JJRC” is not very useful with this quadcopter. Some of the features of the JJRC application do not work, especially the control of the G-sensor.

However, the free and very similar application “WiFi-UFO” works with this perfectly. “WiFi-UFO”

Hover Camera Passport
Hover Camera Passport

However, another folding selfie drone that made a great stir recently is the hover Camera Passport selfie drone. Now this drone has a unique design, not only the arms are foldable inside as the drone DJI Mavic or the Dobby, but the whole body is folded in half as a book or a passport in this case.

Another great feature of the design of this selfie drone is that the rotors come completely enclosed within the body of the quadricopter, which makes it extremely safe to handle the drone even with its flight. You can just grab it in the air without fear of hurting your fingers. This also makes it difficult and can handle some bumps and collisions.

And because it is destined to be used by normal people who have no interest in learning everything related to flying a quadcopter, this quadcopter does not come with a controller, but just like the Dobby is completely controlled by an application that Install on your smartphone.

Now the technical things. The characteristics of the hover Camera Passport drone are similar to those of the Dobby Selfie drone; You both have a 13 MP camera that records 4k videos.

Hover used as Selfie support
Hover used as Selfie support

However, the Passport Drone camera is designed for selfies and photos closer than Dobby, this is due to a fairly limited control range of 60 feet. Another similarity is that both are based on the Snapdragon chipset that gives them a great processing capacity to handle all the advanced features they both have.

Where this drone is better than the Dobby is that it has an obstacle prevention system in the form of built-in sonars, which can detect near objects to prevent the drone from crashing into them. It also has a downward-facing camera that takes 100 frames per second, allowing you to know exactly where you should move, even when you are indoors without GPS signal.

Another positive aspect is that the drone Passport’s camera comes with a gimbal, but it is a gimbal of an entry-level shaft. It even comes with a built-in flash! Which is the first time I’ve seen a drone with one.

The drone Passport also has the “typical” advanced flight modes, such as following me, turning to 360 degrees and orbit modes. The Follow me mode will show a yellow square on the person in your view and when you touch it twice it changes to the green color, which means that the quadricopter of the passport has been blocked with that person and will move to follow it. Of course, fast races and sudden changes in motion will confuse the drone, but it’s good enough. Orbit is an extremely cool feature in which the quadcopter will circulate around you even as you move.

  • Small unique design that is safe to hold and handle.
  • It can be controlled by anyone quite easily.
  • Good camera for your price.

  • Extremely limited control range.
  • Limited Image Stabilizer.

Hawk4k Folding Drone
Hawk4k Folding Drone selfie

We have a new entry from a collapsible selfie drone from a company called 7 senses. The basic principle is the same as other selfie drones in the rodeo (except for the 720x drone of course); foldable, small arms, easy to transport and a decent 4k camera that is mounted using a 3d brushless gimbal that gives you excellent and stable photos and videos. The 7 Hawk4k foldable selfie drone also has the typical follow me mode which is found in all the other selfie drones.

So now you should be familiar with what you get when you buy this quadcopter.

Now, what’s unique about this quadcopter is the inclusion of a watch that you can use to control the 7-Hawk4K Drone. The clock is great, at least in principle, you feel like James Bond when you control a camera drone with your watch. But actually things are a little different. The clock has a total of 11 buttons, some of which have dual functions along with the fact that the small buttons are not very responsive, things get a little weird trying to blow up this drone, which basically ruins this drone.

  • Good camera mounted on a 3d gimbal
  • Has all the necessary flight modes

  • The wristband controller is so bad that it’s annoying to control it.

Back to the big boys now. The AirDog is a foldable selfie drone designed to take photos of the action sports. This is quite obvious if we consider that it has five specific flight modes, each customized for a particular action sport, such as surfing, cycling, windsurfing, etc.

The AirDog drone comes with AirLeash, which is similar to the smart clock we say with the 7 drone Hawk4K. The AirLeash, along with the clever calculations made by the drone, allow you to predict your movements, and keep your course while you are having fun.

Although it still has the same characteristics of the other selfie drones in this round, it has a folding design and has the follow me essential mode, but after an exam we can see that the AirDog is actually in a different league than the other drones discussed Here, except for the DJI Mavic. To begin with, it doesn’t come with a built-in camera, you’ll need to supply your own action camera, and just take commands from your own tracker instead of a smartphone, and it’s not as small or light as the others here. Finally, its price reflects all this direction of “professional degree”.

  • High quality construction
  • Many sports modes dedicated
  • Smart and you know what it does

  • Limited shock prevention detection
  • Expensive
  • Does not come with a camera or controller

What’s the best Pocket Selfie Drone?

This is a difficult question to answer, because several of the drones we review in this round are the best in their own niche.
Let’s start with the DJI Mavic Drone. As you can see, I loved it, it has all the features you can want on a drone and you can even compete face to face with the DJI Phantom 4, bigger and more expensive, even with its smaller shape. So, if you have the money, then this is the drone.

Then we have the ZeroTech Dobby folding Selfie drone, which is another drone that I loved. Priced at almost half the price of the DJI Mavic, but with almost all the advanced features still intact, this is a great mid-range Autophoto drone to buy.

The hover camera passport, on paper, should have a better value compared to the Dobby of ZeroTech, but in reality, I could not overcome the fact that its control range is very limited. At this price point, this is unacceptable.
Drone 720x/Selfie drone 7S of Elfie pocket folding drone, another drone that I loved. It does not have all the advanced functions of the other quadricopter in this round, but it is not necessary. It’s a flying camera that floats and follows you for just $ D99. GUAUUUU… My choice in 90% of ordinary consumers.

7 Hawk4K Folding drone, Spec knew that this should be a good drone, unfortunately they ruined it with the intuitive wrist band. Too bad.
AirDog Drone, a large and expensive unmanned aircraft that is not intended to be used by the average consumer.

So there you have it, these were the best auto floating folding drones that are worth buying in 2018.
Now it’s back to you, what did you think? Do you agree with my recommendations or do you think there are any that we have not included?
